Getting started

Do I need to know how to code?
No. You pick a name, upload a logo and build the course in the browser. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure on a server.
How long until my school is online?
The storefront is live as soon as you finish the first step, on a coursify.me address. Your own domain takes as long as the DNS change takes to propagate.
Can I try it without paying?
Yes. The free plan has no deadline and asks for no card. You can publish a course, enrol students and only then decide whether to charge.
Do I need a company to sell?
That depends on your country's rules and on your payment provider's, not on ours. We never hold your money, so the account that receives it is yours and follows your provider's requirements.
Can I move a course I already have elsewhere?
Yes, by recreating it here: you upload the videos and the materials and rebuild the sections. There is no automatic import from another platform.
Is the platform in my language?
The platform interface is available in 112 languages, and each visitor sees your storefront in their own. The course content is in whatever language you write it in.

Pricing & fees

Do you take a commission on my sales?
No. Coursify.me charges a monthly plan and 0% of your sales. The only fee on a sale is the one your payment provider charges to process it, and that goes to them, not to us.
What does the free plan include?
A published course with lessons, students enrolled, and the storefront on a coursify.me address. The limits on courses, students and file size are the ones shown on the plan card.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes, at any time, from your account. Moving up takes effect straight away; cancelling keeps your school running until the end of the period you already paid for.
Is the annual plan cheaper?
Yes. Paying annually costs less per month than paying month to month — the exact discount is on the toggle above the plans.
In which currency am I charged for the plan?
The platform plan is charged in euros, reais or US dollars. That is separate from the currency you charge your own students in.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. The plan is the only thing we charge. Your payment provider's processing fee is charged by them and is visible in their own statement.

Getting paid

How does the money reach me?
Directly. You connect your own Stripe, PayPal or PagSeguro account and the student pays into it. We are not in the middle of the transaction.
Which payment providers can I use?
Stripe, PayPal and PagSeguro. You connect the ones you have; you do not need all three.
In which currencies can I charge?
In 132 currencies, depending on what your provider accepts. The price is shown with the right symbol, separator and decimal places for each one.
When does the student get access?
As soon as the provider confirms the payment. The enrolment is created by the confirmation, not by the checkout.
Can I sell a free course?
Yes. A course with no price enrols the student straight away, with no payment step.
Who handles a refund?
You do, in your payment provider's own panel, because the money went into your account and never into ours. We have no refund button, and we take no commission to give back.

Building your courses

What can a lesson contain?
Video, text, images and files to download. A section groups lessons, and the order is the one you set.
Do I need to host the video somewhere else?
No. You upload the file and we convert it and stream it. There is no separate video subscription to pay.
How big can a file be?
That depends on the plan — the limit per file is on each plan card. It is the same limit the platform enforces when you upload.
Can I set an exam and issue a certificate?
Yes. You add questions, set the passing grade, and the certificate is issued automatically when the student completes the course.
Can I schedule a course to open later?
You control whether a course is published or not. There is no scheduled publishing — you publish when you want it live.
Is the lesson video protected?
It is streamed with signed links that expire, so an address copied out of the page does not work elsewhere. No system makes a video impossible to record off the screen.

Your brand & website

Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Point your domain at the school and the HTTPS certificate is issued and renewed automatically. Your own domain is available on the paid plans.
Does the school carry my brand?
Yes: logo, cover, colours and the storefront text are yours. There is no Coursify.me badge on your pages.
Do my pages show up on search engines?
Yes. The storefront and the course pages are indexable, with the title, description and structured data each page needs.
Can I edit the storefront text?
Yes, in place: you click the text on the page itself and type. There is no separate admin screen for it.
Does the school work on a phone?
Yes. The storefront, the lesson player and the owner's panel all work at phone width.

Students & engagement

How do I enrol a student without a sale?
By invitation, from the panel. That is how internal training and closed cohorts work, with no public price.
Can I see what each student watched?
Yes. Progress is recorded per lesson, so you can see who finished, who stopped and where.
Can students ask questions on a lesson?
Yes, through comments on the lesson, which you answer from the same place.
Does the student get an account?
Yes, on your school. They sign in to watch the lessons and to see their own progress and certificates.
Is there a limit on students?
That depends on the plan — the limit is on each plan card, and it is the same number the platform enforces.

Trust, security & support

Who owns the content I upload?
You do. We host and stream it so your school works; we do not acquire rights over your course.
What happens to my school if I stop paying?
It stays online until the end of the period you paid for. After that the paid features stop, and your content is not deleted the moment the plan ends.
Is my data backed up?
Yes, daily, with redundancy, so your content does not depend on a single disk.
How do I get support?
Through the help centre, which has articles for the common tasks, and through a request form that opens a ticket answered by e-mail.
Is Coursify.me a long-standing company?
The platform has been online since 2013 and is run by the same founding team. The number of schools and students on this page is counted from the platform's own database.
